Calpurnia, the wife of Caesar, did not want Caesar to go to the Capitol, because she had had a most frightening dream, in which Caesar’s statue, which stood in marketplace, had poured forth blood, and the Roman people came smiling to wash their hands in it. And in another dream, someone saw a lion in the marketplace and graves opened and gave up their dead. There was the noise of the battle in the air and cries of men and horses in pain.
